Oct 27,  · A Great Lp! What a follow up to the Black Rock album a year prior, it is amazing how James Alexander and Ben Cauley could revamp the band after that tragic plane crash and carry the Bar Kay's funk flag on to legendary status!/5(40).

Oct 27,  · referencing Do You See What I See?, LP, Album, Gat, VOS Bark-Kays in some ways were similar to Funkadelic as pioneers of the funk-n-soul era but heavier on the rhythm and blues side of soul. With a strong boisterous lead vocalist and harmonious funk of background vocals and horns.4/5(66).

A late Friday night with a Miller beer, some fresh out the pan fried chicken, and the Bar-Kays -- couldn't beat it. These are the Bar-Kays that not to many people remember. Stax just didn't promote them very well or just wasn't quite ready for them or their music. "Six O'Clock New Report" and "Do You See What I See" are still relevant today/5(5).

Misprint (see images): on the inside of the gatefold jacket, tracklisting is completely wrong, and no performer credits are given. Tracklisting on back cover has been covered with a sticker listing the correct tracks, but the "wrong" tracks are still visible underneath the sticker/5(5).

This is the album that turned me on to the Bar-Kays. I borrowed the album from a friend and recorded it to cassette back in I still have the cassette, but the CD sounds so much better. A late Friday night with a Miller beer, some fresh out the pan fried chicken, and the Bar-Kays -- couldn't beat it/5(5).
